Tim Pool, a well-known American critic of Ukraine, unexpectedly voiced his support for Kyiv
American political commentator and podcaster Tim Pool, who had previously opposed military aid to Ukraine, has changed his stance on the Russia-Ukraine war. He stated that he hopes for continued U.S. support for Kyiv.
In a new post, the American wrote that Ukraine is “fighting for its very existence against an evil dictator.” He also stated that he now realizes the importance of a Ukrainian victory over Russia. In addition, the blogger expressed hope that U.S. President Donald Trump and the American people will provide support to Ukraine.
This statement stands in stark contrast to his previous rhetoric. In 2024, Pool called Ukraine “one of the United States’ greatest enemies,” called for an end to U.S. military aid to Kyiv, and even said that Washington should “apologize to Russia.”
So far, the blogger has not publicly explained what exactly caused this sharp shift in his views on the Russia-Ukraine war.
In 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice reported on a scheme in which employees of the Russian state-run television channel RT funneled nearly $10 million to a media company in Tennessee. Although the company was not named in the indictment, the description matched Tenet Media, with which Tim Pool had collaborated. The blogger himself stated that he was unaware of the funds’ origin and considered himself a victim of fraud.
