According to Nauseda, the drone had just entered Lithuanian airspace when it was destroyed by NATO fighter jets. The president’s statement was published early Tuesday morning on the American social media platform X.

Nauseda thanked NATO service members for their swift response. He said such readiness is important for the region amid Russia’s, the aggressor state’s, escalating aggression against Ukraine.
