Turkish Navy finds sunken cargo ship near Istanbul
The Turkish Navy has discovered the wreckage of the cargo ship Tugberk Imamoglu, which sank in the Sea of Marmara near Istanbul after colliding with an oil tanker. Ten crew members are considered missing.
Wreckage at a depth of 710 meters
Istanbul Governor Davut Gul said that the sunken vessel was found by the Turkish Navy ship TCG Akin. The governor's office published a video of his statement on the social network X.
According to a naval officer, the vessel is located at a depth of 710 meters. An underwater robot sent to the bow of the Tugberk Imamoglu obtained four images.

Collision in the Sea of Marmara
The accident occurred before dawn earlier this week. The empty oil tanker ALSU struck the cargo ship Tugberk Imamoglu, which was carrying steel coils. Footage from the discovery site, according to the officer, shows a large hole in the middle part of the vessel's hull.
The Express Tribune reported the discovery of the wreckage, citing Turkish officials.
