Walla: US preparing to send additional troops and aircraft to Israel — Anadolu Agency

The United States is preparing to send additional military personnel and aircraft to Israel in the coming weeks as part of preparations for a possible escalation in the Middle East. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing Israeli outlet Walla and unnamed security sources.

According to Walla, approximately 3,000 US military personnel are currently in Israel. Their duties include operating air defense systems; pilots, support and logistics personnel, and military staff at headquarters are also stationed there. The outlet reported that US units have been undergoing a planned rotation in recent weeks following the completion of their deployment in the region.

Preparations for possible escalation

The expected arrival of additional troops and aircraft is part of preparations for an escalation, Walla reported. This comes amid reports of a broader buildup of the US military presence in the Middle East, including the deployment of additional personnel and naval forces due to rising tensions between the United States and Iran.

An unnamed senior Israeli security official told Walla that Israel's adversaries are watching the elections in Israel and the United States and assessing whether they can influence them through attacks that would destabilize the situation without a broader escalation. According to him, they understand that Israel's response this time will be “extremely aggressive.”

Coordination with CENTCOM

According to Walla, the Israeli military continues to prepare for a new confrontation with Iran or a rapid deterioration of the security situation amid tensions between Tehran and Washington. Part of the planning concerns possible Israeli operations in the event of a broader conflict and potential targets inside Iran.

The outlet also reported close coordination between the Israeli military and US Central Command in preparation for scenarios involving possible Iranian missile attacks. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during a meeting with foreign diplomats in Tehran that the country is ready to pursue a diplomatic path to achieve a fair solution.
