Zelenskyy has honored more than a thousand defenders of Ukraine
Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees No. 317/2026 and No. 318/2026 awarding state honors to more than 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen, some of whom received the awards posthumously.
This was reported by the Office of the President’s website. Among those honored are soldiers who demonstrated exceptional bravery in battles against Russian aggression on various sections of the front.
The largest number of defenders—over 750 people—were awarded the Order “For Courage” of the Third Degree. The decrees also provide for the awarding of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky in all three classes, the Order of Danylo Halytskyi, and the medals “For Military Service to Ukraine,” “Defender of the Fatherland,” and “For a Life Saved.” Three servicemen were awarded the highest presidential honor—the “Cross of Military Merit.”
This large-scale ceremony took place against the backdrop of news regarding the successful deployment of ground-based robotic systems and the achievements of the Unmanned Systems Forces, as previously reported by the General Staff. The awards ceremony underscores the state’s gratitude to every defender who ensures the resilience of the defense under intensified enemy pressure. The official lists of awardees include representatives of various branches of the military performing combat missions in the hottest spots.
