Application for restraining order filed against Dolly Parton’s nephew — Rolling Stone

She’s Alive, the company responsible for managing Dolly Parton’s business projects, has filed an application for a restraining order against her nephew Bryan Seaver in the Davidson County Chancery Court in Nashville. He previously headed Parton’s security service and announced her death in a video.

Allegations of threats

As Rolling Stone reports, citing The New York Times, Seaver is accused of an alleged deliberate campaign of threats aimed at obtaining money from Parton’s estate. Court filings claim that his security organization, Squadron Augmented Protection Services, LLC, had dozens of employees and military-grade weapons.

According to the publication, in text messages attached to the case, a person identified as Seaver threatened a Dollywood business partner and stated an intention to become an instrument of retribution for his family. The complaint also states that in a message dated September 3, he allegedly called himself a killer.

In addition, Seaver, according to claims in the case materials, wrote to She’s Alive manager Danny Nozell about an intention to create a podcast dedicated to destroying Dolly Parton brand partnerships and discussing alleged wrongdoing toward the family.

Dismissal and Seaver’s position

According to Variety, Nozell fired Seaver on September 15. The lawsuit also says that a lawyer who worked with Parton’s estate and trust resigned after allegedly harassing and ominous threats during a phone conversation. Some employees, according to the complaint, quit, while others hired private security.

In a comment to TMZ, Seaver denied that his statements were threats and said they had been taken out of context. He also claimed that his correspondence with Nozell was a private emotional conversation while experiencing grief. Seaver and a representative of his company did not respond to Rolling Stone’s request for comment.
