In Singapore, actor Jeremy Chan could barely move for two days due to a back injury — Channel NewsAsia
In Singapore, 45-year-old actor Jeremy Chan aggravated an old back injury so badly that he could barely move for two days. Due to severe pain, he could not stand, sit or lie down properly, and his wife, 47-year-old actress Jessica Liu, helped him get dressed.
Chan spoke about this in an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, as reported by Channel NewsAsia. According to the actor, his back problems began in 2023 during the filming of the series All That Glitters, in which he played a Muay Thai fighter. Chan also occasionally overexerted himself on set when he did not warm up enough.
Treatment and recovery
On a day off, Chan turned around and heard a crunch in his back. At first, he went by himself to a traditional Chinese medicine specialist, but after acupuncture he was unable to walk. The actor then called Liu, who picked him up and took him to a doctor.

Chan was prescribed medication, given a steroid injection and advised to rest for two days. After three acupuncture sessions, his condition improved enough for him to slightly lift his leg. At the time, the actor was working on the Mediacorp drama Sooner Or Later and returned to the set. His wife drove him to work and picked him up after filming.
A cane for his mother-in-law
A photo of Chan leaning on a cane was previously published by Jessica Liu. As the actor explained, he bought the cane, which can be unfolded into a chair, for his mother-in-law. She travels with the couple and sometimes experiences leg pain. However, Chan himself had to be the first to use the cane.
The actor noted that he has not yet undergone a detailed examination, but now feels well. After the injury, he began stretching more and avoiding getting out of bed abruptly in the morning.
