Attorney General Kravchenko Refused to Resign Voluntarily
Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko does not plan to submit a letter of resignation of his own accord amid the scandal that erupted following the release of materials from the NABU investigation “Carthage.” The official noted that he would step down if the President initiates his dismissal or if the Verkhovna Rada votes to remove him, as well as if the staff of the Office of the Prosecutor General makes such a decision.
Kravchenko also reported that on Tuesday, September 8, he was summoned to a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s law enforcement committee, after which he plans to speak with media representatives. In addition, the head of the Prosecutor General’s Office is scheduled to meet with the President of Ukraine.
This was reported by the publication “Ukrainska Pravda.”
As a reminder, Prosecutor Kropiva, a suspect in the “Carthage” case, oversaw renovations at the Prosecutor General’s residence in Kozin and issued a visa for his wife.
Earlier reports indicated that NABU and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) are conducting a large-scale special operation codenamed “Carthage” at the Office of the Prosecutor General regarding the possible “protection” of fraudulent call centers.
Prosecutor General Kravchenko disappeared after the NABU and SAP operation began. According to sources in political circles speaking to UP, Kravchenko drove into the government quarter, after which no one saw him.
Later, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko resurfaced and stated that he had no connection whatsoever to the cover-up of illegal call centers and had not issued any orders
