Power was suddenly cut off in Sevastopol due to an overload on the power grid

UA NEWS 25 June 2026 10:27
Power was suddenly cut off in Sevastopol due to an overload on the power grid

On June 25, a sudden power outage occurred in the temporarily occupied city of Sevastopol without prior notice. City residents were left without power due to an alleged overload of the power grid outside the region.

According to Razvozhayev, the restrictions were imposed on the orders of a dispatcher from the Black Sea Regional Dispatch Administration.

“On the orders of the dispatcher of the Black Sea Regional Dispatch Administration (a branch of JSC ‘SO EES’), a temporary power restriction has been imposed in Sevastopol,” he noted.

The officially stated reason is to prevent power grid overloads and avoid accidents in the power system.

The outages occurred without a schedule or prior warning, and the specific distribution of the restrictions has not yet been made public.

A schedule of outages is expected to be published later on the “Sevastopolenergo” channel.

Residents were urged not to use high-power electrical appliances and to await further announcements regarding the restoration of power.

The power supply situation in the city remains unstable, and no timeline has been given for a full restoration.

This was reported by Mikhail Razvozhayev, the “governor” appointed by the occupation administration.

In addition, a large-scale closure of gas stations has begun in the temporarily occupied Crimea due to a critical shortage of petroleum products. The fuel supply problem has even affected the largest regional fuel networks, including the companies TES and ATAN.

As a reminder: the fuel crisis in Russia is worsening: gasoline is running out at gas stations and lines are growing.

Russia has allowed the use of lower-quality gasoline due to the fuel crisis.
