Photo: Russia struck Epicenter overnight; one employee was killed and the production facility was destroyed
As a result of a Russian missile attack late on the night of August 5, production and logistics facilities belonging to the company “Epicenter” sustained significant damage. One employee was killed, and three others were injured.
According to Epicenter, the victim of the attack was an employee at the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka. Three of his colleagues were injured and are currently in the hospital.
The company stated that Russian missiles simultaneously struck two key logistics complexes. In Kyiv, the logistics center on Viskozna Street—one of the company’s main logistics facilities—was completely destroyed by fire.
In Kalynivka, two large warehouse complexes were completely destroyed by direct missile strikes. Another missile struck the production site of the Epicentr Ceramic Corporation plant, where the explosion destroyed the production kilns, making it impossible for the plant to continue operations.
In addition, the employee parking lot near the logistics complex was completely burned down—the fire destroyed 20 private vehicles.
The company reported that due to the destruction, it has been forced to halt production at the Epicentr Ceramic Corporation plant. To avoid product shortages and ensure uninterrupted supply, production will be temporarily relocated to two of the company’s facilities abroad. Preparations are also underway to launch production at another facility in Ukraine.
According to preliminary estimates, restoring the destroyed production facilities will take at least a year and a half, and most likely about two years. The final amount of damages is currently being determined.

As a reminder, 14 people were killed and another 27 civilians were injured as a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
As a result of a Russian strike with guided bombs on Sumy on August 4, two young girls—10-year-old Sofia and 5-year-old Emilia—were killed. The children were in their own home when the Russian attack cut short their lives. Photos of the deceased sisters have appeared online.
