Additional forces deployed to defend Myrnohrad
Ukrainian troops continue to defend Myrnohrad in Donetsk region, deploying additional forces to hold back Russian invaders.

Defenders are actively eliminating enemy units on the outskirts of the city, which allows them to maintain control over the northern part of Pokrovsk.
In recent days, Ukrainian soldiers have successfully repelled several dozen enemy attacks, inflicting significant losses.
Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defence Forces on the Pokrovsk axis have eliminated 87 Russian soldiers and destroyed a large amount of equipment, including drones, vehicles, and specialised machinery.
Overall, in the area of responsibility of the “East” forces, the enemy has suffered personnel losses of 555, including destroyed drone operator crews, as well as 1,392 enemy drones.
Active operations by Ukrainian forces continue, including north of Kharkiv, where enemy assaults have also been successfully repelled. The decline in enemy capabilities indicates the effectiveness of the Ukrainian defensive strategy.
Ukrainian defence forces intend to maintain control of the situation, actively carrying out missions to eliminate threats from Russian troops.
Earlier this week, Russian occupation forces attempted to breach the border in the direction of the settlement of Digtarne in Kharkiv region.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reported significant losses among Russian forces, which as of 16 January 2026 have exceeded 1.22 million personnel.
