Occupiers shell Vovchansk in attempt to seize the city and surrounding areas — Forpost Brigade
Russian forces have long been trying to capture Vovchansk and its surroundings, constantly changing tactics and attacking any Ukrainian positions within reach. The city was partially destroyed about a year and a half ago.
This was reported by Roman Kosse, head of the press service of the Forpost Brigade, on the program "Ukrainian Focus. Morning".
“If we talk about Vovchansk and the Vovchansk direction, it can be noted that the enemy has been trying for a very long time to fully capture the city and its surroundings. They are constantly changing tactics, destroying the city. Vovchansk was ruined about a year and a half ago, and the occupiers advanced over the ruins, trying to seize any sections of the area,” Kosse said.
According to him, the enemy is now trying to bypass the city from different sides, attacking any Ukrainian positions within reach.
“At the beginning of last spring, the enemy attempted to assault our positions using heavy equipment. But FPV drones are a very powerful force, so enemy vehicles do not reach our infantry positions. Now the enemy uses infantry groups and sends their troops on ‘meat-grinder assaults.’ They are constantly trying to find some area where they can advance,” the brigade representative added.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces recently advanced in the Donetsk region, specifically in the area between Kostiantynivkaand Druzhkivka, strengthening their positions.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost about 1,271,350 military personnel. Over the past day alone, the Ukrainian Defence Forces eliminated another 950 occupiers.
