Putin claims that the West allegedly started the war against Ukraine
Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin once again shifted responsibility for the war in Ukraine onto Western countries, claiming that the full-scale invasion in 2022 was allegedly a result of actions by Western states.
He made these statements during a meeting of the Russian Ministry of Defense board, according to Censor.Net.
Putin once again blamed Ukraine and the West for the war.
“It was not us who started the war in 2022. These are the destructive forces in Ukraine, supported by the West — in essence, the West itself unleashed this war. We are only trying to end it,” the dictator said.
He added that Russia was forced to start the war because it supposedly realized it was being deceived.
Additionally, Russia plans to put the “Oreshnik” missile on combat duty by the end of the year.
