Russia drops aerial bombs on Druzhkivka, injuries reported

During the night of 23 March, Russian aviation struck the city of Druzhkivka in the Donetsk region. The occupiers dropped eight aerial bombs, injuring two people. The attack damaged apartment buildings, a shop, municipal facilities, and two vehicles. This was reported by the State Emergency Service in the Donetsk region on Facebook.

According to regional police, Russian forces attacked Druzhkivka using aircraft, dropping eight KAB-250 aerial bombs on different parts of the city. The strikes caused damage to civilian infrastructure and left two people injured. The State Emergency Service reported that the injured received first aid at the scene, after which they were evacuated from the danger zone and handed over to ambulance crews.

As a result of the airstrike, fires broke out in an administrative building and a garage in an industrial area. Firefighters contained the blaze over an area of around 360 square metres; however, due to the threat of repeated shelling, operations were temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of personnel.

Preliminary reports indicate that four multi-storey residential buildings, a shop, municipal enterprises, and two vehicles were damaged. Local residents reported destruction and shattered windows, as well as fear following the overnight attack. “It was terrifying — the aircraft flew low, and then there were explosions. We ran to the basement because we did not know where else to hide,” eyewitnesses said.

The situation in the city remains tense. Local authorities are urging residents to stay in shelters and move cautiously, while emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath of the airstrike.

The State Emergency Service and police continue to monitor the situation in the city to respond promptly to new threats and ensure the safety of residents.

Separately, Russian forces carried out 28 strikes on the Chernihiv region.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces also stated that Russian troops have not advanced in Vovchansk and Synkivka.

It was also reported that all mobilised personnel from Crimea may be sent into combat starting from 1 April.

Earlier, reports indicated that Russian troops had been harming their own forces due to a lack of communication at positions.

Drones also struck residential buildings and a port facility in the Odesa region.
