Russia carried out 1,400 shelling attacks on the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have carried out approximately 1,400 strikes on the territory of Donetsk Oblast. Thirty-nine civilian structures were damaged, most of them residential buildings.
This was reported by the regional police on Telegram.
Nine settlements came under fire, including Dobropillia, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Mykolaivka, Sloviansk, and others.
In Dobropillia, a civilian was wounded as a result of an FPV drone strike.
The most significant consequences of the shelling:
- Sloviansk — strike by a FAB-1500 and two drones: 17 residential buildings, an educational institution, a car, and outbuildings were damaged
- Kramatorsk — attack by FPV drones: an apartment building was damaged, and a car was destroyed
- Mykolaivka — 5 apartment buildings and an educational institution were damaged
- Raigorodok — 8 private homes destroyed
- Bilenke — a private house was damaged
- Druzhkivka — a car was damaged
Overall, extensive damage to residential infrastructure and civilian facilities has been recorded in frontline communities across the region.
As a result of heavy shelling on the night of April 17, the Chernihiv Thermal Power Plant (TPP) suspended operations. Consequently, the hot water supply in the city has been temporarily suspended.
In the Ovruch community of Zhytomyr Oblast, infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of Russian shelling, and a complete power outage was also reported.
As a reminder, a well-known nature reserve came under fire during a nighttime attack by Russia on the Odesa region. A fire broke out in the Danube Biosphere Reserve following shelling on the night of April 17.

As a result of the Russian military’s nighttime attack on Kyiv, the number of casualties rose to 62. Four people were killed.
In the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv, law enforcement officers discovered the warhead of a Russian Iskander-K missile. A controlled destruction of the munition is planned at the site.
On the night of April 15, three people were injured in Dnipro and the surrounding region as a result of Russian drone strikes, and damage to civilian infrastructure was reported.
