Russian forces lose 1,110 troops in a single day in the war against Ukraine

The Russian army lost another 1,110 soldiers over the past day in the war against Ukraine. The total losses of Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion have already exceeded 1.3 million personnel, according to data published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, as of April 4, 2026, the total combat losses of Russian forces amount to approximately 1,302,370 personnel. Of these, 1,110 were losses recorded in just the past 24 hours. In addition to manpower, the Russian army continues to lose equipment. Over the past day, two more tanks were destroyed, bringing the total to 11,835. Ukrainian forces also disabled four armored combat vehicles, increasing their total losses to 24,344.

Losses in artillery are also significant — an additional 85 units in a day. In total, Russia has already lost 39,378 artillery systems. The number of multiple launch rocket systems decreased by three more, reaching a total of 1,716. The number of destroyed air defense systems remained unchanged at 1,338. There were also no additional losses reported among aircraft (435) and helicopters (350).

At the same time, losses of unmanned aerial vehicles rose sharply. Over the past day, Ukrainian forces destroyed another 2,387 operational-tactical UAVs, bringing the total to 217,016. The number of cruise missiles decreased by 26, reaching a total of 4,517. The Russian fleet saw no changes: 33 ships and boats and 2 submarines remain in the overall loss statistics.

Additionally, 199 units of automotive equipment and fuel tankers were destroyed in the past day, bringing the total to 87,149. The number of special equipment losses remained unchanged at 4,109 units. The General Staff emphasizes that these figures are being уточнені (updated/clarified), as hostilities continue and data is constantly being revised.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also stated that in March, the Russian army suffered its highest losses since the beginning of the full-scale war.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine also released data on the advance of Russian occupying forces over the past month.
