In the Black Sea, the Russians attacked a foreign merchant ship

In the Black Sea, Russia attacked a foreign merchant ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. One person was killed, and three others were injured.

Port infrastructure—including buildings, tanks, and warehouses—was also damaged. There were no fatalities or injuries.

While cleanup efforts were underway following one of the strikes, Russia launched a second strike. As a result, specialized rescue equipment was damaged. The personnel were taking cover, so none of the rescuers were injured.

This was reported by Oleg Kipper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration.

As a reminder, over the past 24 hours, on July 17, Russian troops carried out strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were wounded in the shelling; among the victims were five children.

Over the past 24 hours, on July 17, the Chernihiv region came under attack from enemy drones. Fires broke out in several districts at once, which have already been extinguished by Ukrainian rescue workers.

On the night of July 17–18, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine, using seven missiles and 90 attack drones. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed most of the aerial targets, but were unable to prevent a few strikes.
