Death toll rises in Kharkiv following Russian shelling
Two people have been killed in Kharkiv as a result of Russian shelling. Among the injured is a nine-month-old girl.
This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Syniehubov.
Authorities urge residents to follow safety rules and remain in shelters during air raid alerts.
On the afternoon of December 26, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and its suburbs with guided aerial bombs. One of the strikes hit one of the city’s busiest roads, where people were present at the time of the explosion.
For context, Russian Shahed drones also attacked Volyn, targeting critical infrastructure and leaving thousands of consumers without electricity.
