Ukrainian forces anticipate intensified Russian assaults

Ukrainian troops predict an increase in the intensity of Russian offensive actions with the arrival of the active greenery season.

This was reported on Espreso by Andriy Otchenash, an officer of the 4th Operational Assignment Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine, “Rubezh.”

He explained that denser vegetation provides additional cover for the enemy, making Russian forces less visible to Ukrainian units.

According to Otchenash, enemy movement has already increased compared to the winter period but has not yet reached the levels seen in autumn, when Russian troops suffered significant personnel losses.

“We expect larger assault actions than those currently taking place, with more active use of personnel and equipment, simply due to the onset of the greenery season,” the officer said.

Otchenash emphasized that denser vegetation complicates the detection of enemy forces, posing challenges for UAV operators. The Russian army is attempting to compensate for losses and gradually rebuild its forces, using natural cover for concealed movement, including motorcycles and mobile units.

“The greenery period is the most challenging for drone aviation complexes because it is hardest to locate enemy personnel,” Otchenash added.

Ukrainian units are preparing for increased enemy activity and are maximizing the use of their resources to counter assault operations.

On the Kupiansk front, Ukrainian forces repel Russian attacks daily but now face a new challenge — the deployment of an elite Russian UAV unit called “Rubikon” to this sector.

Meanwhile, on the Pokrovsk front, Russian forces continue to show especially high activity.

On the Kharkiv frontline, Ukrainian troops spotted the Russian all-terrain ground robotic system “Chelnok.”

Russian forces carried out over 100 strikes in the Sumy region, injuring a woman.

Occupiers attacked Zaporizhzhia with aerial bombs and MLRS. Enemy troops also struck the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Additionally, a Russian drone attack in Zaporizhzhia injured one person and damaged a State Emergency Service vehicle.
