As a result of shelling in Zaporizhzhia and the surrounding region, over 53,000 residents have been left without electricity
On 4 February, Russian forces carried out targeted strikes on Zaporizhzhia and nearby settlements using ballistic missiles and drones.
According to Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, several facilities were hit, causing fires that were quickly extinguished by emergency services.
Preliminary reports indicate that the attacks did not result in any casualties. However, more than 53,000 residents in the right-bank part of the city were left without electricity.
Authorities are urging residents to follow safety measures and remain in shelters during air raid alerts. In light of recent events, the situation in the region remains tense, and ongoing shelling poses a threat to the lives and health of local residents. Energy companies are working to restore electricity, although the uncertain security situation makes the timeline for restoration unclear.
On the night of 1 February, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying 90 drones, around 60 of which were Shahed-type strike UAVs.
In Dnipro, two people — a woman and a man — were killed as a result of a hostile drone strike.
On 4 February, Russian forces shelled a market in Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, with cluster munitions and dropped two aerial bombs on the city.
