Death toll rises following Russian strike on Kyiv region on the night of 14 March
The number of fatalities from the large-scale attack by Russian forces on Kyiv region on the night of 14 March 2026 has risen to six.
Despite medical efforts, a man born in 1981, who sustained critical injuries during the enemy shelling, died in hospital.
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, reported that doctors fought to save the victim’s life until the very end. He expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and emphasized the terrorist nature of the aggressor’s actions against civilians.
The consequences of the attack were recorded in six districts of the region: Brovary, Vyshhorod, Obukhiv, Bucha, Boryspil, and Bila Tserkva.
The combined missile and drone strike damaged 184 facilities, including more than 40 apartment buildings, dozens of private houses, schools, a kindergarten, and a church.
Key targets of the enemy included energy and gas infrastructure, causing temporary disruptions in heating and electricity supply in several settlements. In Obukhiv district, thousands of residents were left without gas, while in Brovary, the main impact struck residential areas and industrial warehouses.
“Unfortunately, we have suffered another loss… this is now the sixth victim of the enemy’s terrorist attack on Kyiv region,” Kalashnyk said in his statement.
As of 16 March, the number of injured in the region stands at 22 people, including three children. Several of the wounded remain in medical facilities in serious condition, receiving comprehensive care under constant supervision.
It is recalled that Russian forces attacked residential areas in Zaporizhzhia, causing destruction and injuries.
Russian troops also struck a passenger bus in Kharkiv region, resulting in one death and four injuries.
