Ukrainian Armed Forces Eliminated 750 Occupiers on 8 March — General Staff
Ukraine’s Defence Forces continue to effectively destroy invading troops, demonstrating significant success in neutralising enemy artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of 9 March 2026, the enemy’s estimated personnel losses have reached approximately 1,274,040 troops.
In the past 24 hours alone, on 8 March, Ukrainian defenders neutralised another 750 occupiers who attempted to storm positions along various sections of the front line.
Particular attention is drawn to the enormous number of destroyed aerial reconnaissance assets and strike drones.
Over the past day, air defence forces and mobile fire groups downed 2,224 operational–tactical level drones, reflecting the intensity of both night and daytime enemy attacks.
Russian artillery — the backbone of the enemy’s firepower — also suffered significant losses. Over the course of the day, 70 artillery systems were put out of action, significantly reducing the fire potential of occupation forces in the hottest sectors of combat operations.
The list of destroyed equipment was also expanded with other important units of military hardware:
- Tanks — 11,745 (+3)
- Armoured combat vehicles — 24,167 (+10)
- Multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) — 1,675 (+2)
- Air defence systems — 1,326 (+4)
In addition to ground equipment, Ukrainian soldiers also recorded success at sea. Statistics on the losses of the Russian fleet increased by one more ship or boat, bringing the total number of enemy vessels lost to 31 units. This highlights the vulnerability of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet, even in relatively distant maritime areas.
Enemy logistics are also under constant pressure from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Over the past day, 188 units of vehicles and fuel tankers were destroyed, directly affecting the occupiers’ ability to deliver ammunition and fuel to frontline positions in a timely manner.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that this winter the Armed Forces of Ukraine held all key defensive positions.
Ukrainian forces also destroyed four Russian self-propelled air defence systems in the Zaporizhzhia and Khersonregions.
