Wreckage of a Russian decoy drone was found near Chisinau
In Moldova, near Chisinau, fragments of a Russian decoy drone were discovered; the drone had entered the country’s airspace during today’s Russian attack on Ukraine. Preliminary reports indicate that the drone crossed the Moldovan border during Russia’s massive strike on Ukraine. The relevant authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of its crash.
According to reports, local police received a report this morning about an unmanned aerial vehicle that had crashed near the Chisinau-Bessarabka highway. Police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.
Law enforcement officials stated that experts must examine the object to determine its origin and type, as well as the circumstances of its crash in this area.
Later, police reported that the device, found on the side of the road heading toward Bessarabka, outside the village of Karabetivka, turned out to be the damaged fuselage of a Russian “Parody” drone. According to preliminary data, the drone crashed after hitting a tree.
According to the police, inspections—including those using X-ray equipment—revealed no explosive devices or substances.
Police are continuing their investigation and working to determine all the circumstances of the incident.
