Mohtab Khamenei escaped serious injury during the war with the U.S. — Al Arabiya
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei sustained only minor injuries during the large-scale war with the United States and Israel in late February.
This was reported by Al Arabiya, citing an official statement from Hossein Kermanpour, a representative of the country’s Ministry of Health.
The injuries he sustained were minor and do not threaten his physical condition or appearance.
The official source refuted rumors about the head of state’s serious condition and revealed some details of the medical intervention.
“The injuries were not such as to disfigure the Supreme Leader’s face, render him disabled, or lead to the amputation of limbs,” Kermanpour stated.
Despite the absence of serious health risks, the victim required surgical intervention.
A representative of the relevant ministry also reported that Iranian doctors successfully sutured the patient’s wounds.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of doctors, the wounded leader’s condition was quickly stabilized.
“One of the areas of the body that doctors decided to suture immediately was the leg,” added the representative of the Iranian Ministry of Health.
A large-scale conflict in the Middle East erupted on February 28 following a series of powerful airstrikes by the U.S. and Israel on Iranian territory. During these initial airstrikes, the country’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, was killed.
Following the death of the republic’s leader, his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, officially assumed power and leadership of the state.
