Another country has been affected by the Russian fuel crisis

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has sent official requests and begun negotiations with the relevant authorities in Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and the Russian Federation regarding the procurement of fuel and lubricants.

The country imports about 90–95% of its total volume of petroleum products from Russia, which makes the domestic market critically vulnerable to global geopolitical shifts and internal Russian problems. This was reported by the Kyrgyz Ministry of Energy, which is currently noting a shortage of AI-95 and AI-98 gasoline at some gas stations across the republic.

First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev officially confirmed that the government is carefully considering alternative routes for importing fuel from suppliers other than Russia. The situation on the Kyrgyz market has worsened amid a sharp rise in prices and fuel shortages in many regions of Russia, as well as in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Moscow. To keep prices in check at local gas stations, the Kyrgyz government will provide subsidies to transportation companies through September 30, and the “Dzhunda” oil refinery has been instructed to produce 24,000 metric tons of gasoline per month, with a gradual increase in this volume to 50,000 metric tons by the end of 2026.

This was reported by Radio Azattyk.

Russia will stop publishing weekly data on fuel prices

Four more regions of the Russian Federation have imposed restrictions on fuel sales due to shortages.

From producer to importer: how Russia’s fuel crisis became systemic.
