In the Tomsk Region of the Russian Federation, restrictions have been imposed at gas stations due to a fuel shortage

Four districts in Russia’s Tomsk Oblast are experiencing a gasoline shortage, leading gas stations to impose restrictions on fuel sales

According to official data, retail fuel sales in the region rose by 15% compared to the previous week

Amid increased demand, some gas stations have begun limiting the amount of gasoline drivers can purchase.

In addition, some gas stations have imposed a ban or significant restrictions on filling fuel into containers to prevent the shortage from worsening.

Regional authorities attribute the situation to a sharp increase in demand among the population; however, similar fuel supply issues have recently been reported in other regions of Russia as well.

Against this backdrop, experts note that restrictions on gasoline sales and fuel supply disruptions are occurring with increasing frequency in various parts of the Russian Federation, which may indicate systemic difficulties in the petroleum products market.

Consequently, the gasoline shortage in the Tomsk Region has already led to the imposition of limits at gas stations, and the fuel supply situation remains under the control of local authorities.

This was reported by the regional government’s press service.

Earlier, the Russian presidential administration sent special “recommendations” to state-run and pro-government media outlets regarding how exactly to report on the fuel shortage in the country.

The fuel crisis in Russia is intensifying: gasoline is running out at gas stations and lines are growing.

Russia has allowed the use of lower-quality gasoline due to the fuel crisis.
