Kyiv police officers came under fire again while rescuing people
Russian troops have committed yet another war crime by launching a second missile strike on an emergency services facility in the Obolon district of the capital.
This was reported by the Kyiv Police.
At the moment of the ballistic missile explosion, three special forces officers from Police Regiment No. 1 were at the site, having arrived to assist victims of the previous attack.
This insidious “double strike” tactic was aimed specifically at those who are the first to come to the aid of citizens in critical moments.
When law enforcement officers, together with medics, began clearing the rubble and examining the wounded, the enemy fired another missile at the same location.
As a result of the explosion, one of the police officers sustained a severe shrapnel wound to his leg, while his colleagues suffered concussions.
The injury was serious, so his colleagues quickly applied a tourniquet to stop the bleeding right at the site of the attack.
The situation was complicated by the fact that the police vehicle had been damaged by debris and could not move. The officers had to find alternative ways to transport their colleague to a medical facility.
A concerned passerby who witnessed the attack came to the aid of the special forces officers. Without hesitation, the man agreed to drive the wounded officer to the hospital in his own car, which helped save precious time.
Thanks to the civilian’s quick reaction and timely first aid, the officer’s life was saved.
Currently, the wounded officer is under medical supervision following a complex surgical procedure, and his condition has stabilized.
Two other members of Regiment No. 1 have also been hospitalized with head injuries and are receiving the necessary treatment. Despite yet another attempt to intimidate emergency services, the Kyiv police continue to perform their duties on high alert.
