Ukraine's air defense forces have shot down 189 of the 215 drones used by Russian troops to attack the country since the evening of April 21.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.
According to the military, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the enemy deployed Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of attack UAVs. The launches were carried out from Russian territory—from the directions of Kursk, Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Shatalovo, as well as from the temporarily occupied Crimea (Chauda district). Approximately 140 of the drones were Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces.
As of 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 22, the destruction or neutralization of 189 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country has been confirmed.
At the same time, 24 strike drones were recorded hitting 13 locations, and debris fell on six facilities.
The attack is ongoing—enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace. The Defense Forces urge citizens not to ignore air raid sirens.
In the Odesa region, port facilities were damaged as a result of a massive attack by Russian strike drones on the night of April 22.
The day before, Russian drones attacked an agricultural enterprise in the Chernihiv region. Equipment and buildings were damaged. No one was injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Shelling in the Kherson region: 40 settlements came under attack, resulting in one death and 25 injuries.
Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in March, the Russian army suffered its heaviest losses since the start of the full-scale war.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released data on the advance of Russian occupation forces over the past month.
