Russia strikes shopping centre in Sumy, causing damage
On 23 January, Russian forces hit a shopping centre in the Kovpakyvskyi district of Sumy city, Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar reported.
The attack occurred around 01:25p.m., damaging eight windows, the roof, and the facade of the centre. “Preliminary information indicates no casualties,” Kobzar said. Further assessments of the damage are ongoing.
Earlier, on the night of 23 January, a Russian drone struck a critical infrastructure facility in Zhytomyr region, causing a fire that was quickly extinguished.
On 21 January, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on southern Odesa region.
Russia had previously struck an industrial facility in Poltava, causing fires at multiple locations.
Fires in Odesa were also brought under control following Russian attacks.
