Air defence forces shoot down 109 enemy drones

During the night of 19 March, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, deploying 133 strike drones of various types.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of air defence units, 109 air targets were destroyed across most regions of the country.

The drones were launched from several directions, including Oryol, Bryansk, Millerovo and occupied Crimea. The weapons used in the attack included around 70 Shahed drones, as well as Gerbera, Italmass-type drones and other models.

Air defence missile units, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups were involved in repelling the attack.

Intensive combat operations continued throughout the night in the north, south, west and east of the country.

As of 08:00, the downing of 109 drones has been officially confirmed; however, damage was also reported. In particular, 20 strike UAVs hit targets at 11 locations across the country.

In addition to direct hits, damage was also caused by falling debris from downed drones, reported at seven locations. In Odesa, the attack damaged a high-rise residential building and one non-residential building.

Combat operations are still ongoing in some areas, as some groups of drones remain in the air.

The military is urging citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and to remain in shelters until the all-clear is given.

Earlier, Russian forces also attacked the Mykolaiv region with drones.

In addition, a Russian drone strike hit a residential building in Kostiantynivka, injuring one person.
