Ternopil came under a massive attack by enemy drones

On Friday afternoon, May 1, Russian drones attacked Ternopil, resulting in a series of explosions and reports of smoke in the city.

The Ternopil Regional Military Administration and Mayor Serhiy Nadal reported on the consequences.

The first explosions were heard in Ternopil around 1:10 p.m. This occurred amid a massive Shahed drone attack on Ukraine. Monitoring channels reported several dozen drones that had reached the city.

“Take cover immediately! Do not use public transportation,” Mayor Nadal urged the city’s residents.

According to Taras Pastukh, head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration, the Ternopil region and the city of Ternopil are in a high-risk zone.

After the explosions, the city was engulfed in smoke.

At 2:12 p.m., the mayor reported that part of Ternopil was without power.

Specifically, this includes parts of the Kanada, Center, Novyi Svit, and Staryi Park neighborhoods, as well as part of the Soniachnyi district.

Earlier, Russia attacked Mykolaiv with kamikaze drones, leaving two districts in the city without power.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have neutralized 203 out of 236 enemy drones of various types that the invaders have been using to attack the country since the evening of April 18.

As a result of a massive drone strike on Chernihiv, a 16-year-old boy was killed; his body was found by rescuers while clearing the rubble. Four other residents sustained injuries of varying severity during the nighttime attack on the city.
