Russia launched drone and missile attacks on Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, and the Sumy region

On the night of April 22, Russian forces launched a massive attack on Ukraine using strike drones. Port, transportation, and civilian infrastructure facilities in several regions of the country were targeted.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The enemy launched 215 drones from seven directions, including from the territory of the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied Crimea. About 140 of them were “Shahed”-type drones.

The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups. As of this morning, air defense forces had neutralized 189 enemy targets in the north, south, and east of the country.

At the same time, 24 strike UAVs were recorded hitting 13 locations, and debris was found in six locations. The attack continued into the morning—enemy drones remained in the airspace.

In Odesa, port infrastructure came under attack. Despite active air defense efforts, damage to facilities was recorded.

It is noted that there were no fatalities or injuries, and rescue workers were on the scene.

In Dnipro, residential buildings and cars caught fire as a result of the attack. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties, but damage was reported.

The Russian attack once again confirms the systematic use of drones to strike Ukraine’s civilian and critical infrastructure.

Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 189 of the 215 drones used by Russian forces to attack the country beginning on the evening of April 21.

In the Odesa region, port facilities were damaged as a result of a massive attack by Russian strike drones on the night of April 22.

The day before, Russian drones attacked an agricultural enterprise in the Chernihiv region. Equipment and buildings were damaged. No one was injured, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

Shelling in the Kherson region: 40 settlements were hit, resulting in one death and 25 injuries.

Additionally, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that in March, the Russian army suffered its heaviest losses since the start of the full-scale war.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense released data on the advance of Russian occupation forces over the past month.
