Singapore to open Southeast Asia’s first Moutai House
Singapore will open Southeast Asia’s first Moutai House at the end of October in the Fullerton Waterboat House building — a three-storey space dedicated to the Chinese spirit Kweichow Moutai. It will feature a space for learning about the drink, a restaurant by Imperial Treasure and a rooftop bar by Nutmeg & Clove, Channel NewsAsia reports.
Kweichow Moutai is a Chinese luxury sorghum-based baijiu from Guizhou province. In the visitor space, guests will learn about the drink’s ingredients, production technologies and flavour profile through sight, smell, touch and taste.
Moutai collection
Moutai House plans to present Southeast Asia’s largest Moutai collection: more than 300 exclusive and collectible labels. It will include both more affordable bottles and rare examples valued at up to S$1 million.
The venue will also have the region’s first specialised Moutai collection organised by birth year. It will consist of vintages starting from 1965, the year Singapore gained independence. Visitors will be able to search for bottles corresponding to their year of birth, birthday date or another important date.

Two special series have been prepared for Singapore: the Kweichow Moutai Discovery Collection – Singapore, with a design inspired by Nanyang and Singapore’s national flower, Vanda Miss Joaquim, and the Culture Collection – Singapore, with a pair of baijiu cups.
Restaurant and bar
The 45-seat Imperial Treasure restaurant will serve Guizhou and Huaiyang cuisine. Guizhou cuisine is known for its use of chilli peppers, sour and fermented ingredients, while Huaiyang cuisine is distinguished by more delicate and balanced flavours. The menu has not yet been finalised, and the chefs are considering ways to use Moutai, including for marinating, quick stir-frying, braising and preparing dishes with added alcohol.
The Sohaus bar by Nutmeg & Clove will open on the rooftop. Its menu is expected to include eight signature cocktails with Moutai, as well as eight classic cocktails reimagined with flavours and elements inspired by the drink.
